Origin?? I paid for a disk, so why do I need the internet to play it?

I do not have an internet connection. While trying to play the sims 3 after just paying £25 for it in a shop, it would not install, unless I made an account on this Origin rubbish which I did NOT buy/ask for/need. Why will it not let me play a game I have paid for, because there is something I haven't even asked for blocking it?

  • That's what it says on the box.

You need an internet connection and Origin account to install the game. After that you can play it offline but you need to activate it once.

Try to return the game if you have no internet.

More and more games need an active Internet connection to activate. You should check the box carefully before buying something.
