Origin taking ages to download base game

Hey all
So I've searched for days to find an answer to this, I don't know much about computers, but I know that to download a game I have downloaded off Origin numerous times it doesn't take four days to download 20%. I've never had problems until I bought a new laptop. I'm also not sure how to see the speed of the download, I am so over this, I am not spending my money on the same game again.

    The speed of your download sepends on many things. How do you connect to the interent (4G, DSL, cable)? How are you connected to the internet (wifi, or ethernet cable)? At what speed are you connected (10mbs, 100mps)? Did you try an internet spped test like speakeasy.net/speedtest? These are large downloads and sometimes you get a bad connection. What browser are you using? You should be able to see the speed of the download.
