Play in the Ocean?

My child sim in Monte Vista has a wish to play in the ocean. No matter what beach or spot I click on that has the 'play in the ocean' option, no matter how shallow it looks, she stomps with the routing symbol thought bubble and the game says your sim can't play here, try a more shallow coastline. The beaches tried include the bather's retreat and the beach park, as well as the fishing beach at the top end of the Tiber (I just assume its supposed to be that), which has a very long stretch of sand going out making it quite shallow.

Is it because of the beach or is it that my sim hasn't got a child athletic or swim skill level yet? If it is the latter then how many sim minutes or hours' swimming practice does she need to enable the play in the ocean? Its a low-level wish so its not really important but its one of not many she's generated yet. Plus its frustrating. If it is the former, then which beach if any are shallow enough in Monte Vista, and if there isn't any then which vacation spot in World Adventures is?

    She was able to play in the ocean at Shang Simla when the option came up for it there. There must be a problem with the Monte Vista beaches, because the option comes up plenty of times, but it never lets her go through with it. Oh well. 

    The wildflowers are serving a purpose of fulfilling a few little wishes, and slightly more for to collect 10 and 20. But she gets an allergies moodlet after picking a few of them, and then starting to feel ill after more. So they need to be paced. I wonder if that's reduced with a loves the outdoors trait. She has loves the heat.

    DivinylsFan​  Let me know how it goes.  And you can always start a new save just to test, then delete it (or just decline to save your progress).

    As for the wildflowers, there's no real point to them other than selling them.

    Would you happen to know what value or use the wildflower collection has? The set, nor the individual one's seem to come up in the collecting tab of their individual skill guides, it does come up as a wish though.

    I will try it in a World Adventure world. Or with an adult. She wasted too much time trialing it. After all the times they go to autonomously do it ... And its only worth 150.

    DivinylsFan​  Does it help to move the sim closer to the water before telling her to play in the ocean?  I haven't done anything with Monte Vista beyond loading the world and looking around, but I've never had an issue with this wish elsewhere, so I don't think it requires child Athletic skill.

    If you want to test though, without wasting time on building the skill when it might not matter, you can use MC Cheats (click the sim, MC > Advanced > Skill Level) to set the child Athletic skill to 3.  If it doesn't work, or it does work but you want your sim to do the work to earn the progress, set it back to 0 or -1, the latter meaning "has not started building this skill at all."
