Problem With Sims 3, Screen Turning Black

I have The Sims 3 base game(obviously) and the Sims Late Night expansion pack. I start my Sims 3 through the launcher and get all the way to Create-A-Sim with no problems. I give my Sim good hair, tattoos etc. Then as soon as I click on clothes it starts loading them, then freezes, then the music stops, then the screen goes black and white for a second then goes completely black. Two seconds later a window pops up saying "The Sims 3 has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution for the problem" blah blah blah. Windows can never find a solution to the problem so I have to close the Sims. This happens every single time and is very annoying. Please Help!
