Product key for The Sims 3 Ambitions not working as it has 'already been activat

Product key for The Sims 3 Ambitions not working as it has 'already been activated'. This pops up when I try to activate it in Origin.

I have the box/disc still but it says that is that already been used (like yeah, probably by myself 12 years ago or something like that). All of my other expansions followed along with origin, it's just this one that is not 'bought' in Origin. I have already tried re-installing the game and Origin itself. I think it's an easy fix since I have the physical box, the hardest part is just to contact EA about it. Such a pity. I'm not sure anyone can help me here - the only contact option EA gives me is to write a topic here...

  • @SweetStarSage733  You'll definitely need to contact EA customer support for help.  Try this link:

    The page should already have selected Manage my account > Find missing game, but if not, choose those categories.  Live chat should show up under the email form.

    It's also a good idea to take a photo showing the Ambitions disc, its case, and the product code; you can upload this to the form when you submit the live chat request.

    Hey there @SweetStarSage733,

    If your code is showing as already used, it does sound like this code was redeemed previously to an older EA account instead of the one you're currently logging in with- you'd need to locate the login details for that older EA account and you'd see Ambitions available in your game library to install and play again.

    If you need further help locating that old account, live support can help you locate the login details- you can provide that original game code to live support as @puzzlezaddict has mentioned and they can locate which account your code is registered to. You will need to verify that you own this older account before the live support team can help you regain access to it, if you're not able to verify that you're the original owner of that account, live support won't be able to help you get logged in again.
