As I said in one post, witches can do more when it is a full moon, so it's not a big deal if there is no full moon. I don't recommend deleting any part of your game (!) - just turn off the lunar cycle within your game. No full moon - no zombies generating.  If you still wish a full moon, you can turn zombies off with mods (shhh! don't say that too loudly here).
