Re-Installing Sims 3... getting stuck/taking up space

I got my computer re-imaged about 5 months ago and it wiped the Sims 3 off of my harddrive. I still have the CD... and I've re-installed it once before. This time, however... the installation progres...

    Macbook Pro! I can't try re-installing it again because it just keeps on filling up my harddrive. I've searched it for any 'Sims' like data that wasn't complete and I could delete but there's nothing. Just taking up phantom space or something.... Frustrating!

    Forgot to mention... running on 10.8.4! Definitely running on updated machinery, here...
