I didn't get any visual of an update or patch being installed on my launcher, but I can login now with an #, so I think it worked! I didn't expect TS3 to still get bug fixes. Thanks a lot!

So this just started happening but My launcher is blank on the right side, will not let me sign in no matter what I do. it will not let me sign in while in-game. I tried clearing all the caches I can clear and still nothing. I tried reinstalling my game.... still can't sign in and still blank. I'm just bummed out cause I bought stuff and can't even download it. I'm not sure what to do. :I

@Deathcrow0  Did you specifically clear the cache for Internet Explorer?  Even if you never use it, the launcher does for some purposes, and I believe the login at the Main Menu does as well.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorite sites.

If that doesn't help, try changing your password to something with only letters and numbers, no special characters, accents, etc.  (You can do so on ea.com.)  Then clear IE's cache again.

I have the issue right now too... I success one time before and I can't do it the second time... I cleared IE thousands time and it still didn't work... 

@fantuanss  Please go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads, and delete the file labeled [your email].bin.  Then clear IE's cache again.

@fantuanss  No, you'd usually have a file with your email address, including the domain, in the Downloads folder.  If it's not there, try removing the entire Downloads folder and downloading some content from the Sims 3 Store.  You don't need to install it; the point is to see whether the file regenerates.

If the file isn't being created, it could explain the issue.

@fantuanss  That's shouldn't be it either, although you can still try signing in.  Does your email address or password contain Chinese characters, or special characters that the site might not recognize?  Every once in a while, the game's login interface starts rejecting passwords with symbols (even though EA websites accept the password), and it's not too much of a stretch to imagine it might not accept an email address either.

I doubt you want to change the email address associated with your account, but you could try changing the password instead.  Use only Western letters and numbers, just to see whether it helps.

And if you'd rather come back to this later, you can always play without signing in.  The only features you'll miss are the online tie-ins, for example badges and being able to send your friends in-game gifts.

@fantuanss  The Sims 3 launcher password is the same as your Origin password, but Origin accepts some characters in a password that the launcher does not.

@fantuanss  My password has both numbers and capital letters and works fine, so I doubt that's the issue.

Can you try a different type of connection, for example using your phone as a mobile hotspot?  Make sure it's using data, not your local wifi.  If this works, then the issue is likely your router or ISP, and probably nothing to do with your computer or EA account.

@fantuanss  Try powercycling your router.  Sometimes that's all it takes.

If that doesn't help though, it's possible your ISP is blocking the connection to EA, in which case there's not much you can do about it unless you want to change providers.

@fantuanss  You can try contacting your ISP to ask if anything about EA's connection is blocked.  It could also be an issue with the platform that hosts the content, e.g. Amazon Web Services, although that might be difficult to find out.

If you can login with your phone as a hotspot, that's a reasonable workaround for when you do need to be signed into the launcher, which shouldn't happen often.  Otherwise, there are no in-game benefits to signing in other than using the SimPort or sending gifts to friends, and of course the in-game shopping experience that you could go to the store website for instead.

I have four numbers and a capital letter in my password, is that too special for the Launcher?

@governmenthooker  No, that should be fine, and in fact I have both as well.

I'm having a bit of trouble too. Yesterday I was able to log in fine from my Mac, now it is telling me my email is invalid. I'm able to log into Origin and the Sims 3 store fine. I deleted the file with my email, then when that didn't work, I deleted the whole Sims 3 folder. After that, I changed my password and it still didn't work. Now I'm just stuck on what to do.

@tbhhchris  Try clearing Safari's browser cache, as well as the cache for your default browser if it's not Safari.  The launcher uses browser resources for certain functions, including logins, and stale cache data can cause a login to fail.

@puzzlezaddict Hi! Thank you for responding!! I've already done that last night and it had no effect on me logging in. Also, would it heavily impact my game if I weren't able to log in? I'm just wondering because I want to download things from the store, but I don't know if I would be able to since I'm not logged in.
