Re: My sims 3 game is glitching

@zeetopia  Try loading those saves in a clean user data folder.  Move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, then launch the game to create a clean folder with no content, and quit.  Go into the Saves folder inside the Sims 3 folder you moved, copy the affected saves, then open Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves and paste the saves in there.

Load one of them and see if the problem is back.  If would be better to test on a save you have from before the births, if you can.  Let me know what you see.

OKay , i have just tried your method and the game hasnt glitched. the only differnce is , my custom content used for the lot and the sims is not showing (as expected) so the game just looks really weird haha. but the glitches i was seeing are gone! what should i do from here?

@zeetopia  You can try adding your cc back in batches, testing after each one.  As long as you don't get any glitches (be sure to play through the birth, or another point where you remember the game was glitching before), you'll know that cc was fine.  Any batch that causes the glitch again needs to be split and retested until you find the problem file(s).  Here's a complete list of everything in your user data folder, so you'll know what to move over:

While testing, be sure to delete the five cache files in the Sims 3 folder each time you quit.  They should be deleted regularly anyway, and definitely whenever you add or remove content from the folder.  For reference, these files are:

    • CASPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package

@zeetopia  The mod conflict detector doesn't always flag broken mods or custom content, so that's not a surprise.  Did the glitch show up again no matter what cc you added, even one or two items?  Do you have the cc in .package form, in Sims3Packs installed throug the launcher, or both?

@zeetopia  So if you add even one .package-based cc item, the babies go back to glitching?  That's very strange.  Do you use mods, specifically NRaas MasterController, or would you be willing to try?  The entire town might need a reset, or at least the babies if they've already been born when you're testing.
