Re: My sims are unable to go to work!!

I am having this problem as well. Two sims WILL NOT go to work. They will not go. I read you can reset a sim like this:

 

"There are some times when you may want to, or need to, reset your Sim, such as when they become stuck or unresponsive do so, just follow these steps: First, open the cheat window by pressing CTRL + Shift+ C. Hold all these keys at the same time to open the window. Type "resetSim Firstname Lastname" and then hit Enter. Ensure that you entered the name of the Sim you wish to reset."
 
However I have no clue if that will work. All the other sims go to work. Good thought by the player who answered but it's not a clothng issue, is not an issue, they do not change into work clothing, their sometimes is a slip glitch where they just kinda move a bit to a side, and the work option is gone, I drive them there, they won't work. I have quit their jobs, made them start over,they won't go. These two sims never went. They didn't stop going they never could go. It is darn frustrating, and I wonder if there is a patch that covers this. So if you read this Sim Moderators please report this problem, it is new, as I see the date on the other player's remark is, so new issue. Not cool. Thank you guys for fixing stuff like this.     Thank you for your help! It mus have been corrupted....I find that if I have a family that has a lot of data, has been played a lot, it often gets really glitchy and **bleep** like that happens....Its ridiculous!! It pisses me off!! But its the game I suppose....

    I know this was years ago, but did you fix it? I am having this problem in the Monte Vista world. My sim has a job, the carpool never comes, I click to go to work and the action box immediately disappears. I changed lot type, I moved house closer, I quit the job and tried to get it again but was unable to. In the map view, there is no work icon. I used the reset sim cheat. I uninstalled and reinstalled. 

    Nothing is working.

    @shaylarae  Try deleting the work building and replacing it.  The other sims that work there will lose their jobs too, unless you place a second workplace on the map before deleting the first one.  You can delete the second when the first is back in place; the point is to always have at least one on the map at any given time.

    If that doesn't help, try evicting your sim in Edit Town and moving them back in.  This is a more thorough reset than the resetsim cheat.  As long as you do it in one Edit Town session, without saving the sim to the bin and placing that bin copy instead, the sim will retain their relationships, as well as their current job if they have one, but lose their promised wishes and opportunities.
