Nothing opens, I click play on steam, it gloes blue like any game for lik 1 min and then it goes back to green and for em to click play. It doesn't even open launcher. I tried going to the game folder and avoiding the launcher click the other way to directly open the sims 3 but it gives me an error 0xc000007b. Please I need help.

IStarlight66 Sorry for the late reply; I've been away from the forums for a while. If you still need help, let me know whether the game ever worked on this computer and whether you've made any changes to the game's program files (now or earlier), for example adding the Smooth Patch or editing the .sgr files.
Please also provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
I am having the same issue and have tried a wide variety of things tonight, and nothing is working. It opened the launcher fine back in October 2025 when I last played the game, now all of a sudden nothing works; not even opening TS3W.exe and disabling all cores but one, and re-enabling them on launch works like it did last year. I'm at a loss. I don't know if Steam did updates and now it doesn't work again. I also tried reinstalling the game, verifying files, and restarting my computer all at least eight times. To be fair, my Intel 14th-gen Core has been causing me a LOT of problems with older games. I don't even know if I can ever play the game again with a super new processor like that. Let me know.
