Re: My sims keep disappearing.
@JachyRosario A new household member's portrait not appearing can be a sign of corruption, or it can be a temporary issue that fixes itself. The next time this happens to you, use "save as" to rename the save, so the original, before you added the sim or pet, remains intact as a backup. Then quit, delete the five cache files in your Sims 3 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts, and reload. The five cache files are:
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.package
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package
If the portrait is still missing on reload, go to Edit Town, evict the household, and put them back in their house. As long as you put the sims back and don't replace them with a bin copy, they'll keep their jobs and relationships, although they will lose their promised wishes and opportunities.
When you say you go to play with a household and all the portraits are missing, do you mean that you switch households within a save, or you load a different save? And if you load a different save, are you quitting all the way to the desktop, or switching saves at the Main Menu? Exiting a save from the Main Menu and loading a different one can cause all sorts of issues and should never be done, even though it's inconvenient to have to quit to desktop.
