I need a refund after 10+ years.
For three years I've tried to contact EA Support to help me play my childhood game.
My struggle with EA Support started when I wanted to transfer my The Sims 3 basegame and add-ons to my main account from my childhood account (diffrent emails). After a bit of back and forth, EA Support managed to transfer the games, but I feel something went wrong.
This is the bug/issue I haven't been able to fix for years now (occurs on any computer I try):
- I download The Sims 3 off of the EA App. The app shows all add-ons and basegame as downloaded.
- I press play.
- Launcher opens; no add-ons.
- I press download add-ons.
- Launcher opens the EA App that tells me the add-ons are downloaded
- I check my computers files; the add-ons are downloaded
I decide to try a theory:
- I buy an add-on from the EA App.
- I download it.
- I press play.
- Launcher opens; it shows the game I bought BUT STILL NONE OF THE OTHER ADD-ONS!
- Something must be wrong with how the games were transferred to my main account.
Yes, I tried EVERYTHING the dozens of EA Support people suggested me to try while waiting for me to be passed on to the other person
They sometimes just told me to wait, because they were "looking into the issue" and as I'm waiting by the computer for some sort of answer they say something along the lines of: "It looks like you haven't touched your keyboard for a while, are you still there?" And when I say yes, they tell me to keep waiting.
Sometimes the chat timer (like 10 mins) runs out, because if you don't type anything it closes the conversation and transferres you to another person. To stop this from happening you HAVE TO type something in and send it while the support is "looking into the problem".
I even tried doing the millions of software tricks they told me to try, including ones that require me to create an anchor point (or whatever it is called) so that if things go wrong, I can undo any changes and go back to the settings at the time of the anchor.
One of the support people even promised me they would fix the problem, told me not to worry. Told me that I didn't need to contact them anymore and that they'd fix it without me having to ask. This was in early December 2025, I decide to go check spring 2026 > THE CASE HAS BEEN CLOSED WITHOUT INFORMING ME, LABELED "UNFIXABLE" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
So, all that in mind:
There's nothing I can do to fix the situation and all I could do is to somehow get a refund and re-buy the games. Does anyone have any advice? Any thoughts?
I OWN the games. I OWN the physical discs, yet I cannot play the game! Do I have to take EA to like small claims court or something to FINALLY fix the problem??
Thanks.
