The user files should work the same way on macs on PCs. Do you not find the user files ?

- Yes, I tried by to dragging a copy of my saved file to my desktop to relaunch it. I know that it doesn't work the same as relaunching from a PC. I've tried everything, I can't seem to get it back. Thanks for your response. Any further help will be greatly appreciated.
What do you mean it's missing? Like from the Main Menu in-game? And when you say you dragged a copy to the desktop to relaunch it, do you mean the putting the saved-game on the desktop and double-clicking?
Go to Finder and hit Cmnd-Shift-G.
Enter the following into the text-input area: /Users/[USERNAME]/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves
There should be a bunch of folders in there. Look for the two folders with the same name as your saved game, e.g.If your game is called "Andy", there will be an "Andy.sims3" folder and an "Andy.sims3.backup" folder.
If there is only the ".backup" folder, duplicate it (either Cmnd-D or Cmnd-C then Cmnd-V). Right click on the duplicate and click "Get Info". Go to the text-input area and take out the part that says ".backup copy". Hit return (enter), then close the Get Info window.
In your Saves folder, there should now be an "Andy.sims3" folder and an "Andy.sims3.backup" folder.
Launch the game. In the main menu, "Andy" should now be one of the games available to play. This is also a viable fix for a game that recently became corrupted, except you must first delete the existing "Andy.sims3" folder (and any progress since the ".backup" file was made), then continue from the 4th paragraph above.
I have absolutely no idea if anything I just spend 15 minutes writing is actually relevent to your problem, but I hope it is! 😕mileytongue:
