Re: Sim is stuck outside of the house

@ShadowProxyAce  It sounds like you may have a leftover jig blocking the front door.  Action jigs are supposed to disappear when the actions associated with them end, but sometimes they remain and block access to a specific spot.  If you don't have mods, there's really only one way to get rid of the jig.  Go to Edit Town, evict your sims, save their house to the bin, bulldoze the lot, replace the house, and move the family back in.  If you do all of this in one Edit Town session, without saving your sims to the bin, they'll keep their jobs and relationships but lose their promised dreams and opportunities.

It's also a good idea to make a copy or two of your current game, in case anything goes wrong.  You can copy the save file from your TS3 game folder, or you can load the game and use "save as" to rename it slightly; either way, you'll have backups.  And you should also delete the five cache files in your game folder, as they  accumulate and retain old data that can slow down your game.  Many of us delete them after every play session.  For reference, they are:

  • CASPartCache.package
  • compositorCache.package
  • scriptCache.package
  • simCompositorCache.package
  • socialCache.package
