You have to be REALLY patient between clicking download in the browser, the item showing up in the download tab of the Launcher, waiting for it to finish downloading and then clicking on the install button and waiting for the installer splash screen to show up. Don't keep clicking buttons because it will have a strop and not do anything 🙂 I promise it can and does work. Close everything down then open Origin, press play so the Launcher opens then click download on one item in the Store.
I’ve been selecting only one item to download and I press the button once with the launcher already open and once it shows up I wait for it to download but I get the download error within a few seconds
I’ve tried Firefox, Chrome and safari and nothing has worked I’ve honestly kinda just given up and accepted it haha
Yep I tried doing that a few times and it didn’t work. I tried all the suggestions that people posted but none of them worked for me.
- i tried every single thing and i still get the same error.
@puzzlezaddict Yes, I'm signed in to the same account and have tried several different internet browsers. I have also tried downloading from the product page instead of purchase history, and it still doesn't work - not sure what else to do :/
@AHervieu Try downloading into a new admin user account on your Mac.
I was able to install all of my store content, but the only thing showing up in my game are the worlds! No clothing, hair, or furniture though. Also pretty sure the CC that are .sims3pack are not showing up either! Tried deleting the cache folders and no improvement ☹️
I have tried everything!!! I have reset the DNS Cache, RAM, reset Origin, reset the game, uninstalled/reinstalled everything, added the "Installer Data" file, etc. I've even talked to 3 EA workers and NOTHING! Every time I download content from the store I get, "Error downloading content {0}" and every time I try to instal CC, I get "Critical System Failure". At this point, I don't know what to do. Someone please help!!! ☹️
@Peege14 Try all of this, together and in this order:
- Delete the Installer Data folder
- Run the Origin reset tool for macOS
- Repair the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Repair
- Open the launcher before trying to download a store item
- If you get an error, create the Installer Data file if it's not there already
If none of this helps, please try installing content into a new user account on your Mac. Make it an admin account, and use only letters and numbers, no special characters, accents, etc. in the username.
@indrabrahamsz You don't need to install anything. Just open the dropdown menu with the gear on it and select New Folder, then name it Installer Data.
- @puzzlezaddict Maybe for others: If you go to Go>Search folder>and typ: ~/library/
I couldn’t find library in the list when I opened ‘go’
