Re: Sims 3 is not launching
@dryasdust0 Thanks for providing the dxdiag, which lists a number of Sims 3-related errors that look like they're related to .NET Framework 3.5. So please try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Click Windows key-R, enter "appwiz.cpl" without quotes, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and you'll see .NET 3.5 near the top of the list. Click the filled-in box to uninstall, and restart your computer. Repeat the process, except this time, click the now-empty box to reinstall, and restart again.
If this doesn't help, please let me know what error you see, if any, when you try to open the launcher. Please also look for related entries in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes. You'll see a list of errors and updates, with a column for each day. (Today is all the way on the right.)
For any errors that happen at exactly the time you tried to open the launcher, specifically after reinstalling .NET 3.5, click "View technical details," then copy the information and paste it into a reply here. Sometimes the Reliability Monitor doesn't update right away, so if you don't see any related errors, be sure to check back an hour or two. The timestamp on the initial chart can also be off by up to an hour, so that's not an entirely reliable metric, but the one within the technical details should be accurate.
