@sassyskinnygil Is iCloud Drive running on your computer, and if so, is it syncing the contents of Documents? This guide is for Sims 4, but the same concepts apply:
I'm not suggesting you need to change any settings yet, but I do need to know whether this is a factor.
If it's not, please let me know whether you've installed a third-party antivirus or any cleaner app.
Separately, as an experiment, please create a new admin user account on your Mac. Don't link it to an Apple ID (you can skip that step); just open the EA App, repair Sims 3 (again), and see whether you can play.
By the way, Macs run macOS; iOS runs on iPhones.
