Is there an ETA on fixes for SIMS 3 (or what compatability settings to use?)
I have SIMS 3 (full legal version) with various expansion packs.
Attempting to load it in the final Windows 10 RTM (upgrade) fails to launch with the error:
"There was an error during startup. Please see Log for more details"
(the log file in "C:\Users\${username}\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Sims3LauncherLogFile.log" is empty (0 bytes))
Any attempts I've made so far to run the app (TS3.exe, Origin, TheSims3Launcher.exe, TheSims3LauncherW.exe, etc.) in compatability mode (as far back as Windows 7 (where it used to work)... and any combination of video/DPI settings have all failed.
In some scenarios the error is a bit different (a Windows "95" looking dialog) with the error: "Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)"
Sadly all links I can find on Google about the issue point to sites attempting to pirate the game, this is definitely not me.
finally, this forum WYSIWYG editor doesn't work in the new Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10 (you can't focus or type in the edit box).
