Your welcome I just asked someone else if they know the answer. If they do Im sure they will post back to you.  I cant tell you why your GF wants to play on PS3. I have always played this game on computer. Its so much better on computer and it was originally always a computer game starting with the sims 1 however the sims 3 on computer does have higher specs that other sims games so the sims 3 does play better on a gaming computer.

Thanks for referring me.  I prefer PC gaming too.  She has my last gaming computer which is still fairly new.  Guess she is tired of being in the computer chair lol.

the online pass was discontinued, you should be able to either play your game without or you should be able to download the Online Pass for free from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Thanks for the reply.  Maybe I will buy her the Sims 3 for the PS# and see what it does.  I can't find anything specificly stating whether the Sims 3 server was taken offline or if it is still online.  I have only found information on the SIMS 3 pets.

LOL that is why you get a gaming laptop!!!! I like to be mobile and yes sitting in a chair stinks !!! With a laptop I can move around but yes gaming laptop is more costly than the desktop

it is kind of hard to find info at the moment as CS won't seem to be available either until Sunday ( i checked and see this )
