Re: Sims 3 store content will not install

I'm having a very similar problem, I followed your suggestions crinrict, however it does not seem to have solved anything. Do you (or anyone else) have any other ideas on what to do here?

I think it's best if you open your own thread, describing your problem in as much details as possible.

Other than reinstalling the store stuff, I don't have any suggestions but you say your issue is similar ? So maybe there's something different about it.

I am trying your suggestion now so fingers crossed! Do you have any idea why this is happening (why it says it was a successful installation but doesn't actually work?)

Is it because of new patches? Because my content worked a couple of weeks ago then all of a sudden when I went to open a save in Sunlit Tides, there was an error message and then after that none of my CC from the Sims 3 Store would appear in my game.

The files in DCCache sometimes get corrupted and after that nothing gets really installed although it says it does.

Hi, crinrict. I am having a very similar problem but when I do what you said, it's still the same thing. I bought Monte Vista and when I download it, it says "There has been an error downloading content. See the log for more details."

The log doesn't tell me anything. If you have any sites that could help me, please link them. Because I really want to play in Monte Vista.

P.S. my game is up to date and everything.

The log can be found in documents/electronicarts/thesims3 and is called Sims3LauncherLogFile.log

This has changed nothing me, I have tried so many things but nothing works. I bought the game on steam and downloaded some store items then I later reinstalled on Origin and deleted the steam version, after the reinstall, I could not reinstall my store content, it says I need the latest software update, which I have!

Hi Crinrict. I did this and it worked (yay!) but now my third party content is missing in game. I did just move all of the files to my desktop so do I just need to move those those files back into the DCCache folder? I tried that and it didn't work so I'm assuming no?

Nevermind. I figured it out after reading your post several times over. I removed the new .ent and .dbc files and moved the original ones from the DCCache folder on my desktop to the new DCCache folder in the sims3 folder. 

And that, boys and girls, is why reading is fundamental. 🙂

Thank you so much! I tried all kinds of sites looking for help to get custom content working in game. Most of the advice was hard to understand (except maybe for game programmers). Anyway, I followed the steps just as you laid them out, and voila! It worked. You're my hero.

I am having trouble understanding this. Do you leave the DCCache on your desktop then? And don't put it back in the sims 3 folder?

Mr./Ms. I think I might love you. Seriously I tried everything else and it was way too confusing, tried your instructions and-BAM! it worked. lol but some of my mods have went missing when I did this(they don't show up in game, but our still showing in my mods folder). How can I fix it???

I have a problem with the latest patch, since I installed Island Paradise my game ran VERY slow it took forever for the launcher to open and even more for the game to start, so I deleted the DCBackup files and everything was the same so I followed to move the DCCache files out of that folder and the game continued to run slow so I took out all my downloads (there where about 700 items in here) and that's when the game was normal again but I would like to have that content back and now everytime I try to install that content the launcher says it's already installed and won't show up in the game, so I took back the DCCache files but the game runs slow AGAIN so what can I do, how can I be able to reinstall my content without having to wait and ethernity or uninstall my whole game?? HELP! I've never had this problem before the new patch, my game could take 3000 items and won't run so slow as it is now so I'm pretty sure it's because of the patch. 

Also, I tried to uninstall my content to reinstall it but it doesnt show up on installed content, only on downloads listed as installed so I can't even uninstall it. HELP ME PLEASE

 doubt you'll even see this. But the directions were so vague so if you rmember how to do it can you be more specific? because im scared to loose everything ive downloaded over the years and i'd hate to loose everything because a few files wont download. So I really hope someone sees this and helps cuz im really ready to get riverview. Ive waited a bit too long for this content to download so any help at this point is good enough. i just dont want to loose everything.

Thank u so much  I have been trying for months to get this sorted.  It worked for me but I lost the exchange stuff.  I'm not bothered, I can get some of it back , just miss the mens facial hair!!!!  At least now I have my gold packs and furnishings and hair styles and thats all thanks to u.  Many many thanks, the ea team had no idea how to help me but ur little trick worked wonders 😕mileywink:😕mileyvery-happy:

so do i need to keep the ccmerge or delete it too

kepp the ccmerge that file is very important

so i delete everything in the backup folder except the ccmerge right?
