Re: Sims 3 website is down?

I can confirm that almost all players on the Sims 3 website are experiencing this issue, including myself. It makes communicating with others very difficult, and uploading in-game images is also very challenging. I know our site isn't really supported anymore, but perhaps the problem could be passed on to someone. I suspect it's a server problem; everything is gradually being lost. We don't want that!

2 days in a row it happened to me. I hope this gets fixed since It does fix itself but seems to keep happening everyday. Here are pics from my page. Good news is that I already tagged a mod on my other post so hopefully they flagged this issue to the team.

I'm having the same problem. It's been happening for the last few days and it does come and go.

It seems for me at 5:00pm GMT time I can't see posts again. Every time at this time for until I don't know I can see anyone's posts on the my pages. Currently I can not see posts. I'm not sure when I can see posts again cause I come off the site until tomorrow. I'm waiting until when I can see again unless it comes back really late. I'm trying to experiment.

Same here! It is really frustrating and I sincerely hope that this will be fixed anytime soon!

Just a update I sure if any mods saw this they have flagged the issue to the team. Mods are good here and make sure the team are aware of this. They don't need to let us know since the flagged my post before but never said anything so they are not ignoring us. The mods on here are always making sure everything's good. So we have a good chance of something being done. We just need to wait and see. Thanks mods if you read my comment for all the hard work you do on here. I have more info that could help. My friend who is German on the Exchange posted memories today and then my page when blank. I couldn't even view from the feed or in their studio. Keep in mind some of the different languages in their memory posts now sometimes have this ? in a black background in their texts for no reason. That was never happening before to people who don't speak English. Hopefully this added info helps.

liesemietze on the sims 3 site gave good info on why the ? thing is happening and could be a cause for my page breaking. The ? are "Umlauts" like ä, ö, ü in german. The page doesn't recognize them. So it does seem to work for status updates but not memories which might be breaking them. Some how and I know this the site used to see them on memory posts but now it no longer does :| Something happened and now we are trying to find further evidence on why this is happening to others that say memories are not what's causing this.

Here is what the memory post looks like by the way for German. ? with black background. It applies to anything with stuff with "Umlauts" that can also apply to English too with certain wording. Pokémon for example won't be allowed in memory posts since it has a "Umlauts".

I think I now know why the pages go blank. Here is what I found.

It's the speech bubbles breaking the pages on memory posts! My friend posted the memory with speech bubbles and now my page is blank until I fix it myself with a temp unsub. All the tests I have been watching I have now got it down to this! I think we have now have all the evidence on this issue.

There is still issues with my pages going blank and the memories posted seem to be the cause. Edit I check some the others that are on my list my pages and this is what some are looking like today.

I haven't been able to get on the site at all today (11/13) I'm getting a 502 bad gateway error before today I was still having the other problem with the site. I think my page needs to be purged.

Hello, friends, I can not get on the Sims 3 exchange or the Sims 3 Store for the last couple of days. HELP! Thanks to all who brought this to the attention of the right people. I hope they will do something. If we can still BUY from the store, they should still support this game!!

Yes I contacted EA tech support and they made it seem like the problem was with me but looking at the number of posts in the past 2 days about 502 Gateway Error, it is a website issue. They said they'd look into it, but if we keep posting, I think they might actually try to fix it.

I also cannot get on my wall or other simmers walls, I can only view my studio, the exchange and upload to the exchange.

EA_Solaire​ There is a lot of reports from people not being able to get on the site due to bad gateway 402, 503 etc. Something is going on but some of us myself included can get on there and some have to use the in game system which is buggy and sometimes crashes the game. With from what I'm seeing I think the site could use some work to fix some of those issues even if it has to down for a while but it would help those people who can't get on there. I'm having issues though with not being able to see older posts, Some people can't change their privacy settings from friends only to everyone and some people can't even load their pages. I hope will all this info it can help you send this to the team to see what they can do on their end. Seems the team is aware of the issue so hopefully fixes might happen. Even if the site has to go down for a while but better then nothing. Hopefully with all our reports and the team aware we might see fixes happen. Thanks EA_Solaire​ for listening and I did put a comment about all the issues we are having 2 days ago on here in this post below if you needed anything. Hopefully we can see fixes now that people are aware if this all has gone through. Fingers crossed since people can't redownload their store stuff without the site not working for them. I still can not get on to The Sims 3 store or community or exchange or my page. :(  has anything changed for anyone?

I cant even log in to the Sims community site.  When i am able to it goes to the next screen and says bad gateway and when I look up that code it states there are server issues, but this has been going on now for over a week. 

It has nothing to do with memory posts. I have an old account that I do not have any friends on and I cannot sign in on that one, I get the 502 error. If it was memory posts it would not happen on that account as there is no one to post memories. 

A 502 Bad Gateway error usually means that one server received an invalid response from another server.
The website’s back end isn’t communicating correctly. 
Server-side issue. 
Website’s server is overloaded
The site’s hosting provider may be having outages.

Fruity beat me to it but the for the memory posts it just happens in a way with certain languages that appear on the walls. It's not easy to find the right cause for breaking the pages but I think certain languages for some reason are no longer supporting certain wording like this certain letter (é) They get a ? with a black background in the post on people's pages and sometimes it looks like it breaks peoples walls myself included. Sorry it took me time to respond. I was sleeping and my time zone is GMT and I've been today but I got there to respond. I haven't posted any memories in a long time due to my game performing better while I'm not logged in but I do have people on my list who do and it does seem to effect my page. The 502 error like fruity says is not caused by memories and most people can't get on the site and log in. The Blank pages on my wall for me seems to be from memories and it might be a language issue from people who are in a non English country. Hope that helps. Again sorry for my late response.
