Re: sims create a style cant change

@selbbab  Does this happen only in one existing game, or does the problem occur everywhere, including a new save?  Do you see it all the time, or only when you've been in build/buy mode for a while, or when you've been playing for hours?

If the problem is limited to one save, that save might be corrupt or overloaded to the point that the game engine can't keep up.  This could also be true if the issue only surfaces during a long play or build/buy session, as both will drive up RAM use.  If it rises above 3.5 GB, you might have problems saving, and above ~3.7 GB, the game can't keep track of all the data at once and starts to fall apart.

If you can't CASt properly even in a brand-new save, you might try repairing the game in Origin.  (Right-click on the TS3 icon to see the option.)  The other thing you can do is drag your entire TS3 folder out of Documents and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game again, a fresh, clean folder will spawn with no content.  Your existing saves will be intact in your old folder but won't show up in the Main Menu.  Try playing in this new folder for a bit, testing out CASt to make sure it works.  If it does, you can move your saves and other content from your old folder to your new one, and hopefully the problem won't return.

    Hi @selbbab,

How did the test go? Were you able to get rid of the issue by following the steps puzzlezaddict suggested?

Hope so, but let us know if you still need help! 😉
    Cheers,

@selbbab  You can also try repairing the game in Origin to see if that helps.

Just out of curiosity, how much RAM does your system have, and how much is TS3 using when you see this problem?  You can check the game's usage in the Task Manager.  Since you didn't mention whether this problem is global or confined to only one long-running save, I'm wondering if this particular save is bumping up against the RAM limit when CASt stops working.
