Re: Unable to Practice Making Drinks on Bars

Just wanted to confirm that without a mod such as that by icarus, there are no Mixology commands on the regular bars. Only on the LN Pro bars, and yes the bars do have to be on a residential lot or at least not assigned to a staff/Role Sim Mixologist. If icarus' mod is in play, and/or the correct kind of bar is available for use at home, then we have to look at the available space around the bar. There does need to be a fair amount, even for the smaller ones with the mod in play, or the sim won't be able to get behind and use it which can sometimes cause the commands to drop from the menu since they would be impossible to carry out. To test, try moving the bar to the middle of the room or outdoors in a yard just temporarily to see if a ridiculous amount of space will cause the commands to appear again.

If all of these ingredients, so to speak, are in order, then perhaps the sim should take a Mixology class or study the Volume 1 book to see if reaching Level 1 on the skill will unlock the Practice interactions as required.

I find the interaction is very random in when it pops up. I've tried making new saves. It will work depending on the sim and it will even work sometimes on regular bars on home or community lots. I don't think I have ever had my sims get the mixology skill so I don't think that is the problem.

@geckosarefunky  This may still be related to the amount of room around the bar, as in, whether your sim has enough space to perform the task.  Does the option show up some of the time but not always if the bar is in the middle of a large, otherwise empty room?
