@geckosarefunky Are the bars on your sims' home lot or a community lot? For the professional bar, is there a mixologist on duty? Even if the sim isn't anywhere near the bar, the fact that there is a mixologist usually prevents your sims from being able to make drinks, that is unless you have a mod to open up more interactions. (Maybe you had that one before; it was created by icarus_allsorts.) Also, without this mod, I don't think the regular (non-professional) bars allow sims to practice mixology, just make the base game drinks.
If you're convinced that your setup is correct and this isn't working, try on a new save, just to see whether this is a game issue or particular to your existing save.
I find the interaction is very random in when it pops up. I've tried making new saves. It will work depending on the sim and it will even work sometimes on regular bars on home or community lots. I don't think I have ever had my sims get the mixology skill so I don't think that is the problem.
@geckosarefunky This may still be related to the amount of room around the bar, as in, whether your sim has enough space to perform the task. Does the option show up some of the time but not always if the bar is in the middle of a large, otherwise empty room?
