I am not sure how to fix cas but I do know how you can still create a family. Usually what I do is I click choose a household. Then I pick the one with the amount of Sims I want in the family. Then I type in the cheat Called testingcheatsenabled true exactly like that. Then I hold shift and click one of the Sims . Then I choose the option called edit sim in creating a sim. The It for some reason opens up. That's how I do it. Repeat the cheat steps with every sim.I hope it helped you!
