Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I think there is no "my case". morghax, sutakku etc. are in the same situation. ( As a matter of fact I can download the sims 3 in origin client)
I'm going to do something. I'm going to check my account on thesims3.com again, perhaps I'm just blind or something like that.
By the way I'm a bit scary so I won't use my another keys (The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff Origin Key,The Sims 3 Late Night Origin Key) because I don't know what would happen if I use.
Anyway thanks for the reply again.
Cheers

Dear reader,
My girlfriend tried to download the Sims 3 through the Humble Bundle. She tried to use the code in origin but got an error telling her to create an account on the main page of The Sims 3. She accidentally created a new account and linked the Sims 3 code to the same e-mailadress she used for Origin. Now the problem is, the game doesn't show up in her gamelist.. Could someone please help us?

I've activated 16 digit code.
today I went to the humble bundle page to get the 20 digit code and activating the game again followed the instruction. But the game code on my Origin client didn't update.

Mines worse. I got the 20 digit activation code by going to the Info of Sims 3 in my games but that is now an invalid product code.
I just want to say, I only ever had BF 3 direct through Origin prior this. I have never had so much trouble getting a game working before. Fair enough, this is for charity and I am thankful but at the same time, this is a charity PR exercise that has seriously backfired.
The origin client rebooted my PC, consistently crashed. I reinstalled it. Even that was a drama. It was going to take 1 hr to just download the Originthin setup direct from EA. I ended up downloading the latest version of the Origin client from a 3rd party site. That worked. I then still got the download looping so I had to search the wonderful EA forums again (after waiting 1 hr for an online customer support chat who had no idea and told me to just reinstall the client) and use a different INI file.
Finally got Sims 3 downloaded and it installed without any help from me.
And now I cannot go Online with the game due to the 20 digit product code, (which was automatically known by the product) now being invalid.
I cannot use the "Solved" instructions to fix this because when I get to the bit to enter my HB 16 digit code, that's been used.
Furthermore, I was downloading DS3 last night, went to bed, wokeup to an Origin client that had frozen again. I had to kill the process to get it going again.
Origin is a Joke!!!!!

Solved. Read in another thread to go back to the original HB email 'Your Humble Bundle order is ready"
And follow your unique link and you will now have a new valid 20 digit product code. Then go to the Sims site to register there. It worked!!!

Yes i got the wrong 16 digit that dident work, i waited a day and now i got the new code with 20 digits and... suprise, dosent work....
Cmon EA get your game on or give me the code to redeem on steam. yes they are better, just surrender plz.

If you purchased the Humble Bundle like I did which has Sims 3, High End Loft and Late Night.. The codes are listed under Origin, not Steam. That's where you could be going wrong.
I suggest (and could be wrong, complete newcomer to Sims and Origin):
1: http://www.origin.com/create - To create an EA/Origin account, its also up to you if you want to download the Origin client. I recommend doing so.
2: http://www.thesims3.com - Sign in using your EA/Origin account, then register The Sims 3 using your code (this code is unredeemable via Origin client)
3: In the Origin client, now add the other two Sims codes under Games>Redeem Code. Once you have done this, you may need to refresh/reload your games library.
4: Download and install whichever registered Sims games you want to via Origin.
You can also register your Sims games via the website instead of the Origin Client but as for downloading the product I wouldn't know without having the Origin client installed.
PS. On your humble Bundle page, click "Steam Codes" to redeem what games are avaliable for Steam.
Hope this helped, good luck.

lol, no. i have origin, i got all games on origin (but the sims) and the games steam was enable on steam as well. took me 20 sec for all games on steam, and 3 hours for origin games. They sell the sims on steam, so why not a serial code for steam as well?
both my 16 digit and my new 20 digit the sims 3 wont work, but the 2 expasion packs worked.

So, in the excitement of getting such a good deal on some amazing games, I quickly punched all of my codes into origin and claimed them.
Now I read that you must redeem the codes for the Sims 3 on their website (thesims3.com)...
Is this going to cause me any issues, if so how can they be fixed??
- Anonymous12 years ago
Appologies if I'm not meant to double post but...
I have also just read that the Tech Team are working to fix 'the issue'.
What exactly does this mean for me?
- Anonymous12 years ago
Hey,
I have the exact same problem, but only with the late night expansion and the stuff pack (already had the base game). Where did you read they are looking into the problem?
First problem:
It's normal we rushed and redeemed them on Origin, as the keys are listed as "Origin Keys" on the humble bundle site, and only if you click on a link with instructions you see that those keys are for thesims3.com page. I don't usually need instructions to redeem a HumbleBundle key or any other key as it's a pretty straightforward process, so I just redeemed them on the origin client.
Second problem:
If those keys are meant to be used on thesims3.com site, why does the Origin client accept them? The system should be bidirectional, if I activate a sims game on Origin, it should appear on thesims3.com page too.
Third problem:
Once a key is activated via origin, thesims3.com page says the key is invalid, so it's not possible to activate it there too.The outcome of activating the games directly on origin is that we get no credit for having the games in the sims3.com page. So I guess that no achievements and other stuff about the games will show there. Don't know if further issues may appear in the future.
Let's hope for a solution and sorry I can't help.

So now I'm wondering if they're going to send out new keys for us or fix the issue internally?
However, from what I have been reading, the installation requires a different length key to the one provided?
If this wan't for a charitable cause, I might be getting a little madder than I currently am. EA, sort your act out! 😕mileymad:

i recently bought a humble bundle, and i was hyped to play Sims 3 but as it turns out i redemmed my 20 digit code and i refreshed my games, i checked the purchase history and nope, ... im getting really irritated please help - Arturo

I purchased The Sims 3 along with the other games in the humble bundle, and i entered the code on origin and i told me to enter the key and then i did. how do i get the game on origin for there?
- Anonymous12 years ago
I have a 20 digit key from the Humble Bundle page, so this is not the 16 vs 20 digit key issue. It doesn't work and gives me an invalid key error whenever I try to register the game through the Sims site.
- Anonymous12 years ago
hey happened the same to me, i posted here as well, eventually after 3 hours i tried again and the code worked. so keep trying. gl

My friend got the humble bundle,he says he already has the sims 3 so decided to give me the codes. I downloaded Origin, created an account and what-not. The when I enter the serial key,it says I must redeem it on the sims 3 website,I had no problem with it,I had to create a Sims 3 account and use my serial key and all the crap. But whne I hit "Register a game" and put my Sims 3 serial code it says it is invalid. I am getting really pissed at this,I tried everything to try and fix this. Help, anyone?
- Anonymous12 years ago
Hello, so my problem is that I just bought the Humble Origin Bundle and got the Sims 3 starter pack, but the thing is that I already redeem the code on Origin and have the game on my library there but when I enter the community site the High-End Loft Stuff doesn't appear on my list of games, so why's that?
PS: I tried redeeming on the site but it says my code is wrong.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Exact same problem here. Funny how all codes work on origin but not on sims 3's servers. This is yet again, a major **bleep**up for EA. Now i am closer to see why they got voted the worst company.
HI i cant register my game, it says that is invalid cd key. for both sims 3 and the 2 expansions i got from the origin
