Registered Games

I'm not into Sims 3 as much now I'm older and would like to give my games to someone who will get use out of them but some of my games are registered on my account. There must be a way to unregister ...

Unless you give the person your log-in details there isn't really much you can do about it - unless they happen to be released (base game only I think) before September 2012 which doesn't require registering upon installation and then the person will merely just have to be play offline and not be able to download from the exchange.

Many game distributors now have this policy. If you read the EULA (end user license agreement) which nobody reads until there is a legal question, you will find you do not own the game. What you purchase is a license to use the software. That license is for you and not transferable. It has been llike this for a long time but there was no mechanism to control licenses. Enter the internet. Today there is Securom and registration. Distributors offer extra features (like the TS3 site) when you register the game and now they have your information. Try using the same Microsoft Windows key on several computers and see what happens. Many resale stores have stopped accepting many PC games because they can not be re used. Once I buy a game I prefer to keep it in my library. I still have all my Zork games around here somewhere.
