Requires installed copy of the sims 3

I have installed The Sims 3 and High-end Loft through my origin application. I added Late Night and University Life but when I click to install them on Origin, it pops up saying "This product requires an installed copy of The Sims 3. Please install The Sims 3 before installing this product." I have an installed copy of The Sims 3 in my origin so I do not understand why it says I do not have an installed copy. When I attempt to install the actual disk instead of through origin, the launcher pops up ready to play because it is already downloaded. So origin is just not recognizing that The Sims 3 is installed? I am so confused. I can play High-End Loft without any problem so I do not understand why the others will not work. Please, any suggestions?
