I think June 2010 was probably when the second cover art work came out. According to the wikipedia, Origin was released in June 2011 and at that point they added the current version for everyone that had the sims game which was the second one.
I assume your disc version cover was either the collectors edition or the version 1 which is posted on my website. Since that version was never added to Origin, it states June 2010.

Ok. I'm off to bed and I feel this thread is getting hitch-hiked. I hope you can get it sorted. I can't seem to help so I won't try any longer. I'm just getting confused.
Ill post when EA gets back to me but my disc version is the original with all the plumbobs on it.
