Serial Number not working

I' ve bought the Sims3 recently from a retailer claiming that the product is original and the serial number hasn't been used before. But the thing is that during registering my game online information popped up that this code might have been used before. I was trying to check the number on your web site  http://www.eagamereg.com/ but this site doesn't work!!! I have also trouble updating the game. Please, help me with this immediately.
