Sim 3 Mystery pregnancy
I'm not sure if this is the right place; I apologize if it's wrong. Anyway- I had my sims try for baby as they both had a wish for another; this will be their 4th (both have surround by children lif...
I'm also relieved she gave birth; as the pregnancy continued on passed the original amount of time I was afraid she'd be stuck waddling around in maternity clothes forever! She'll need to go through one more pregnancy to complete her lifetime wish, it'll be interesting to see how the next one goes.
I did the evict household trick a couple times when trying to solve the laundry issue, but it didn't work. Moving lots did, for that one at least, but there's always more to pop up, it's just the nature of the game I suppose lol It gives the game some character at least 😁
@jdfoland I think routing issues can be saved with the house, at least to some extent. So moving may have been the only way to address that. In case you're not aware, one very common cause of a routing issue is using the MoveObjects cheat on a sim. This should never be done unless you're going to quit without saving. Many years ago, I learned that the hard way—I had a sim repeatedly walking up the stairs only to reappear at the bottom.
If you never used MOO on a sim... then yeah, the game likes being weird.
Oh yes, I learned the hard way as well about moving sims that way; I never attempted that one again lol I very rarely use moveobjects at all to avoid glitches that come with it. I think I may just be having one of those games that is glitched, it happens. So far nothing too traumatizing has happened, and hopefully nothing bad enough to crash the game and make me lose the family will. But it's definitely keeping it interesting. My female sim (who had the odd pregnancy) refuses to get dressed after showers anymore and just walks around the house naked. Both the male and female sims have a complete mind of their own, to the point that I will have tasks set for them but they will do something completely different, and they won't stop doing their own thing unless I do a reset sim on them. The family has 2 dogs, and every now and then when they are running around they will morph in to one completely warped creature; I have to reset them to get them back to normal. The oldest child, if he goes to the fridge himself, will just continue eating until I reset him. He'll just keep going back to the fridge over and over and eat and eat and eat, despite having the stuffed moodlet. Though if I send him to the fridge to eat he does it normally. And the baby, every night she's put in her crib, morphs briefly from toddler to child and then back again. Sims life is full of surprises, I'm curious to see what else this family has in store for them . 😁
@jdfoland It sounds like you have a reasonable approach, but I'd at least like to point out that the sim who's not getting dressed after showering may have a broken outfit assignment. Try changing something about whatever outfit you'd expect her to wear after the shower, which is situational: sleepwear if it's late enough, career if she's supposed to work soon, everyday for other times.
A MasterController reset of a sim is a lot more thorough than the resetsim cheat, so if you're going to run a reset, I'd highly recommend using MC.
Finally, having large dogs on the lot and a bathtub can totally break autonomy. The game engine trips all over itself trying to calculate routing for a potential dog bath thousands of times a second and can't handle autonomy properly. The workaround is to stick the bathtub(s) in the household inventory until needed.
The above probably won't fix everything, but it might make your game run a little more smoothly overall.
