Sim can't access refridgerator

There's some kind of glitch that has occurred twice now! I've had to restart my game again after I saved the lot and family to the library since this glitch pops up where my sim can no longer access the fridge or the cooking stations. She keeps saying that either: 1. herself is blocking the way (go figure), or 2. something unspecified is blocking her path. She's standing right in front of the fridge when this can happen. No matter where she starts from, she can't access the items, nor does it help if I move the objects somewhere else!! This is getting really annoying to have to restart with forming new relationships and everything.
