Sim stuck in rabbit hole on Sims University

Question

Just as my Sim was graduating in Sims 3 University, I decided to save while she was in the building. As always, the game froze just as she was about to go home. I restarted the game and found that she was stuck in the building and unable to get out. I tried resetting the sim, and I tried even deleting the building in hopes that she would appear on the lot. None of this worked. I restarted the game twice, which did nothing and she was still stuck in the building.

I have every expansion pack and almost every stuff pack.

Is there a code I could use to stop this? I've worked hard on this sim for about two months and I really don't want to lose all of this data.

Have you tried teleporting her elsewhere?

Yes, I have. I've even tried deleting the building but is hasn't done anything. Resetting the sim didn't do anything either.

Also, I can't click on any Sims, and her icon doesn't show up in both the little square or above the Sim-time.

Does your saves folder on your documents, have a folder with the name of the game that you're currently playing but ending in .backup?

Yes it does, but I'm currently on tech support trying to get this problem resolved. If none of what tech support suggets should works, should I try replacing the current save with the backup save?

Yes. Replace the files of your current game on your saves folder with the ones in the folder with the exact same name as the game you're currently playing but ending in .backup
If they tell you to uninstall the game and install it again, try what I wrote first.
