Yesterday I installed the new "The Sims 3 (64-bit and Metal)" on my Mac Book Pro. However, after installing it (along with several expansion packs) the install button remains active and no play button appears. If I click the install button again, it continues installing, completes, and makes the install button active anew. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the Origin application, but it does not seem to have any effect. What do I do?

@Saratustrar Have you ever had the 32-bit version of Sims 3 installed on this computer, and if so, did you do a clean uninstall? The leftover hidden library files may be blocking Origin from installing the new version. Here's how to do a clean uninstall:

If that's not the issue (please check just in case), please post the full specs of your Mac, including operating system, as described here:

So I followed the instructions to completely uninstall The Sims 3 (as I did have the 32-bit version installed earlier), but the same problem keeps occurring. As I open the Origin application, "The Sims 3 (64-bit and Metal)" completes installing automatically, but no play button appears. As I check my computer for new Sims 3 folders, I can find none. It seems like the game has not installed at all.
Is it still advised to use the super patch by the way? Even though it is "a new game"?
My specs are:
- Operating System (Version): MacOS Catalina 10.15.7
- Mac model: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
- Processor: 3,1 GHz Tokjerners Intel Core i5
- Memory (RAM): 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
- Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB

@Saratustrar The Super Patch is a 32-bit app and wouldn't run in Catalina and probably wouldn't work on the 64-bit version, and it's not necessary either: the game is already fully patched.
Please run the Origin reset tool, restart your computer, and try downloading the base game again.

If that doesn't help, create a new admin user account on your Mac, sign into that account, and try downloading the base game there.
