I use Ubuntu as well. I have a couple programs that I used with windows when I had it, that I really liked and use them on Ubuntu with WINE. Go to the Ubuntu software center and install WINE. Then install your game using the WINE windows installer. Not everything is compatable or will work with wine, hope it does for you. Let me know if it does, I would love to get Sims and use it on here myself.
