Sims 3 and Windows 8 - An Analysis

- What version of Windows 8 are you running ?
Windows 8 Pro
- Do you have the 32 bit Version or the 64 bit one ?
64-bit
- Did you buy a new Computer and got Windows 8 on that or did you install it on your old machine ?
I upgraded my old computer, which ran Windows 7
- Which of the EPs/SPs do you have installed ?
World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, and Pets. No SP's.
- What Patch level are you at (base game) ?
1.42
- Do you have any Store content or CC/mods added ?
Yes.
- What graphic card do you have and which driver version are you running ?
NVIDIA GeForce GT 520, driver ver. 9.18.13.697
- What symptoms are you seeing (try to be as detailed as possible)**
OK, so I can actually load up the game just fine from the launcher and select a save to open. The problem for me is when I select a family and press play, it will begin to load (slower than before the upgrade, I think) then suddenly crash. HOWEVER, I have a save of Sunset Valley with all the sims erased, and that actually loaded! But none of my populated towns will open! It could be a mod, but the game wouldn't run without CC either (do I have to do a separate check without mods installed??) SOLVED! See below...
- Anything else you like to add.
My game worked fine before I upgraded, and Skyrim works fine...
(Also, compatibility mode doesn't help)
**PROBLEM SOLVED!
It's a MOD! I renamed my "Mods" folder so the game wouldn't recognize it, and one of my saves loaded up! However, it still loaded very slowly and it reset the sims. I will look into which one is causing the problem...
Ok, so it was NRaas's master controller, i just had to update it. Everything's fine now for me too. Compatible! :mrgreen:
