Sims 3 and Windows 8 - An Analysis

Hdd 500 gb, Nvidia geforce gt 635- 2gb. Intel core i7- 3630QM, 2.4 ghz
- What symptoms are you seeing (try to be as detailed as possible)
My game crashes in two different ways.
1. Sometime when i press play and the EA sign pops up it is enlarged and freezes, several times it will not start again and i have to maually turn of the power ( have waited up to 20 minuttes once )
2. During gameplay a message pops up saying a problem occured with the sims and the program has to close down, and it does.
I have had little to almost no lagging before these problems happens. I ca have played for 15 minuttes or 1-2 hours. My computer is not overheated when it happens.

If you have not done so already, I would get the latest Windows 8 updates and driver software. If you have the issue you might want to try a fresh install of the Sims 3 base game. Here are instructions to manually uninstall Sims 3 (easy to follow), https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-the-sims-3. Once done, install the Sims 3 base game and see if this resolves your problem(s). Note: Even though you have all EP/SP, a fresh install of Sims 3 will not alter these products in any way. This process was suggested to me by EA when I received a message indicating I exceeded the 5 PC limit. I have done this a couple of times w/o issue and this may help you out.
