For reference (my own and others'), this player has reinstalled DirectX 9 and renamed the user folder, neither of which allowed the game to run. The Sims 3 launcher opens but the game itself does not. The game throws an 0xc000007b error.
@danieltopping123 Please uninstall your Tobii eye tracking software, at least for now.
If that doesn't help, force the game to launch in windowed mode. Find the correct Sims 3 user folder, which is the one with the more recent files inside, open Options.ini, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).
For now, please do not use the Alder Lake patch, or repair the game in the EA App if you've applied the patch. Instead, use the Task Manager workaround explained here, and applied to TS3.exe, without the W:
