Sims 3: Can't Switch Active Household

Very recently, my Sim game has been glitching ever since I purchased Showtime. Sims started disappearing--the icon box would turn green and they would become invisible--so I downloaded the Travelor and ErrorTrap mods. Everything seemed to work just find until I decided to make another Sim. I created the Sim and made her the active household. I attempted to switch back to my original family, but every time I do it returns to the new Sim I created.

I attempted to evict the family, but it won't let me place the family in any house nor will it let me merge households. I also tried switching active households with other Sims, but this hasn't worked either. I've seen one or two incompleted threads with this same issue. Any ideas?

  • Literally every family I attempt to play "deletes" itself. "Error Code: 12" pops up and then the family disappears after a random period of time. This has never happened before. Also, the game crashes nonstop to the point of being unable to play. These issues have popped up after the game update.

I also still cannot switch active families.

Your graphics driver could do with an update. Yours are pretty old.

Do you have the game installed on the c or d drive ? Where are your user files ? Your C drive does not have a lot of disc space left. You're down to 17 GB:

  • Ha-ha, I totally agree...my laptop could use a little update, I think.... :catlol:

To be honest, I think everything is on my C. I'm not very tech-savvy, to be honest. I just know some of the very basics when it comes to computers.

Then you should either free up some space or uninstall the game and install it on your D drive.

  • Yeah I think what you said the last one happened to me. When I switch households. All the characters on the side show up as the other household. But if I click some of them it goes to the other characters in the one I’m trying to currently play. I saved before switching and exited withot saving again and it happened again. I restarted my computer. It won’t work! Similar things happen to others and I’ve already done so much to try to fix it I’ve been playing it for a while and I don’t wanna lose everything I’ve done. Sorry for the bad picture but you can clearly see that the girl I have on my screen is not the girl showing up.
