Sims 3 Collector's Edition: Sports Car issue

Greetings all,

Back in 2009 i bought the Sims 3 Collector's edition somewhere during winter time i think since my box had a note containing 'free exclusive christmas materials' on it.

Ever since i bought it i had the issue that i wasn't able to obtain this 'European sports car' that was listed on the back of the box just above the system requirements.

I spend many frustrating hours mailing, contacting ea support, got replacement serial key's, nothing helped. Eventually so sick of the issue i accepted it and moved on.

Now i'm about to go on vacation and i was thinking about installing sims 3 on my laptop so i can play whenever i feel bored during late afternoons.

However, the issue still haunts me whenever i grab sims 3, and i was wondering, am i still able to get my hands on this car?

Because, as an owner of a legit original Sims 3 Collector's Edition copy i still think i should. 

Even after 8 years, it still bugs me now because you know,  you spend some more bucks for this version just to end up with the base game, a mediocre usb and no working car code.

Even one only bought that version to get his hands on that car.
