Sims 3 Consignment Store

I know this has more than likely been talked about before but I could not find a situation like mine when I Googled it.

I recently installed Sims 3, World Adventures, and Ambitions on my Mac. I created a character that I wanted to try the Painter track with. I built up his skill and then started storing some of his work in his inventory before searching how to level up. I learned of the consignment store and was very excited to go try it. But when I got there I could not consign anything to sell at all. I have never been able to. I have tried moving towns and adding the store, deleteing the register when I both own and do not own the store but nothing has worked.

Does anyone out there have any advice on how to maybe fix this?
