sims 3 crashes on load screen when using the EA APP

Hello! I am writing because of an issue I am having with the EA APP.

I keep trying to get my sims 3 to load using the app. The game starts up and then crashes on the load screen. It never gets to the saves screen.  I have deleted my cache files. I have tried with no mods. I have even made a new sims 3 folder.  I have even hit repair. It starts up, the game starts to load, and then crashes each time.

I am having no issues loading it with Origin.  The game loads and plays fine.

I read that we had to switch over to the EA app soon and that origin would stop working soon. But now I am very worried. The sims 3 is my favorite game. I can't get it to work with the EA APP.

@xuiliajuicebox  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If this doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@DestinysEcho I’m in the same situ, can’t roll back to Origin as the EA App doesn’t allow it. I’ve loaded in Offline mode, removed my mods folder, set all graphics to low (in game) unchecked interactive loading screens, STILL CRASHES ON INITIAL LOADING!!! ☹️ it’s so frustrating.

  • When I try to get to sims 3 via the sims website, it wants me to buy sims 3 or subscribe (monthly) to EA. I think they are deliberately trying to push people out of sims 3 and trying to make you subscribe.

@Cookiemunsta0008  If you're having an issue you'd like help with, please start your own thread in this forum describing it and any troubleshooting steps you've tried that haven't worked.

Since this thread is a bit old and seemingly not related to the issue you've referenced, I'll lock it here.
