Sims 3 crashes on Wondows 8

Hi, I have recently bought a new computer and installed Sims 3 on it. The game crashes to desktop after a few minutes. It worked without any problems on my old computer which had Windows 7. I have tried to run the game as well as an administrator as in compability mode Windows 7, but with no results. Pleas help! Here is a part of my dxdiag.

How long can you play in windowed mode ? Can you check how much RAM the process TS3W.exe uses up ? Just start the task manager while you're playing and check on the process tab.

I can play about 5 minutes and I have noticed that the game crashes when the memory use reaches over 2500 MB. I have tried several times with the same result.

Many thanks by the way for trying to help me.

With your 64 bit system and the 8 GB it should be able to use about 3.7 GB unless you have tons of background programs running.

Is this only happening with one savegame or also if you start a new one ?

Yes, I have tried to start new games with different variations of sims and towns but it crashes all the same.

Are you willing to try a third party tool ? There's a tool called crash log analyzer (just google).

It's not a magic tool that can stop the crashes but it can give an indication to where the error lies. Just copy the errors you get to the clipboard and post them here.

This tool is not supported by EA so you'll be using it at your own risk

I did that and it says "Max Memory Used - Try to reduce memory use by lowering settings". I don't know what else to do... ☹️

Can you export the log from the tool and post them here ?

Also there's a txt file with xctp in the name in your documents folder. Could you post that as well.

    Thanks.

I have now disabled lessons, shopping mode, memories and interactive loading screens and have been able to play for over an hour without any crashes :-)
