Knatura I've split your posts into their own thread since you're not seeing the "serious error" message covered in the master thread. Can you load a new save right now? I'm not saying you necessarily need to abandon your current save, but this is a useful test.
If you can't load a new save, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
If the new save works but the old one does not, please try loading a backup of the old save. Inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves, you'll see a folder with your main save name and another folder with the same name and a .backup extension. Rename the save and delete the .backup, so it ends in .sims3 , and the save should be available to load at the Main Menu.
Please also let me know whether you use mods or custom content. It's fine if you do; I just need to know.
