@Iluin This is exactly the info I need. Your dxdiag lists some older errors related to the Alder Lake issue, but it looks like you've addressed this again. (Repairing or reinstalling would undo the effects of the Alder Lake patch, but you probably already know that.) Instead, the newer errors point to a component of the 2005 x86 VC++ runtime, which Sims 3 uses. So please uninstall your current copy and reinstall it. Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click the 2005 x86 version, and uninstall it. You can get a fresh copy here:

You only need the x86 copy for Sims 3. Restart after installing and before trying to play.
So I see what you're talking about (I think) but there's no field for 2005x86, only Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64). I've enclosed a screenshot. Could you advise how best to proceed based on that?
@Iluin Uninstall the two copies of the 2005 VC++ runtimes that do NOT say x64, so the first two on the list. Then install the x86 version from the link I posted.
So I went ahead and did what you instructed me to do and downloaded and installed the x86 version but I'm still getting the same issue. I haven't reinstalled the Alder Lake patch as I was led to believe the new update put out by EA resolved the issue that addressed. Would I be wrong in assuming so? I've enclosed my most recent exception log.
@Iluin You're correct, you don't need to use the Alder Lake patch anymore. The crash log confirms you're not seeing that error as well, rather an error with the same VC++ runtime. Since you reinstalled the runtime already, the issue is more likely something else that is using it incorrectly. So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Try again to play, and if you can't, reinstall .NET Framework 3.5. Click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and you'll see .NET 3.5 near the top of the list. Click the filled-in box to uninstall it, and restart your computer. Repeat the process, clicking the now-empty box to reinstall, and restart again before trying to play.
