Sims 3 does not recognise AMD Radeon R9 280X

Hello, 

I had Sims 3 successfully working with an Nvidia GTX460 graphics card, but it won't work with my new AMD Radeon R9 280X. I get the following message: 

"Unable to start game 
Device 0 cannot run this title. No supported graphics card detected." 

I've done a lot of research on this issue and followed the advice given in

but without success. 

Has anyone got Sims 3 working with an R9 280X? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Crin and BGH22, I'm pleased to report that installing the newest 'approved' driver has fixed the problem, and Sims 3 is now working fine. :-) Thanks very much for your help and advice.

    Hello Crin,

    Before removing Sims 3 and reinstalling it I had tried this without success when using the Sims 3 launcher. I'll try again via the AMD software.

    Could you check in your device manager if there's an exclamation point next to the graphic card (check if the drivers are installed ok).

    Hello Crin,

    Yes the driver is installed, but I'm using the latest version which is a beta driver, and will downgrade to the newest 'approved' driver.
