I've tried that. They say:
Xane - To be honest, the Sims 3 isn't really a support title anymore
Me - Oh really? Why would that be?
Xane - Mostly because it's an older title and there's no longer a dedicated development team for the Sims 3. /:
Ugh! If anyone knows anything I would be so greatful! I feel like I cannot buy anything now cause of these issues. You'd think they would want my $ heh

As for your issue, thanks for the details given we'll look into it further. I don't have any direct troubleshooting steps to fix this, but if the game isn't autoregistering on the site this looks like a significant issue.
However before looking into this more closely, can you double check that you're using the same account on the sims 3 site that you're using to log into Origin? Account mixups are very common so we want to discount this possibility before taking any major extra steps.
