When I try to start my Sims 3 game, the launch screen is white with a puzzled looking sim and text in many languages saying the launcher is down for maintenance. I have been playing the Sims 3 for many years and have never seen this. Does anyone know why this has happened and if there is anything I can do about it?
Thanks. I checked since I was away for a bit and it's up and running again. Thanks for giving the update. This thread will be used every time the site goes down and up. So if the site does go down again. I will comment here so follow this thread if you want to know if the site is down or not.
0d2a3564d9ee79ab Does your password contain special characters? If so, that may be the issue—the launcher doesn't handle these well. So change your password to something with only letters and numbers.
If that's not the issue, clear Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data AND delete the file labeled [your email].bin in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads. It's important to do these together.
Having said that, you shouldn't need to login to the launcher or Main Menu in order to download Store content. What happens when you try? If you get an error message, please post a screenshot.
Exactly at the moment I need the store the most, since I wanted to test if I could redeem the codes for my Sims 3 add-ons that I purchased via the EA app through the store. I have 2 hours left, otherwise I have to ask for a refund.
Is it possible to redeem the code through the Sims 3 store and then download it via the Sims 3 launcher? (I Bought 3 Worlds) Because my EA app Sims 3 add-ons are not in the game! (Despite the EA app stating they are installed.)
I also learned after two days of googling and reading this forum that you should only buy things through the Sims 3 website store. But some worlds were not availableon the website store or were half the price on the EA app. (Which also doesn't make sense?) But it seems that if you buy Sims 3 add-ons through the EA app and they are installed, they (still) do not show up in the game. I've learned my lesson. Pffff... Really, oh my goodness. End of rant. :)
The store is still down / in maintenance at this moment...
(Nothing works, you can't download or go to your account.)
Hopefully it will be fixed soon. You might still need to contact support first about your addons not showing up just to be safe. In case it does go wrong and let them know about the site issues and servers. It may help to tell them that too.
