Sims 3 Generations Expansion Pack Problem

i used the serial number for my "Sims 3 Generations" expansion pack through origen, but it did nothing. what do i do now?

Where did you buy the game ? Disc or through Origin itself ? Did you download the Origin client already: http://origin.com/download ? Is it no there in myGames ?
